With regret, The Opportunities Fund will cease to operate with immediate effect.
We were started in 2012 with a large donation from our founder, Nottingham philanthropist Benoit Ivernel, and we have been dispersing funds to local charities across the county, project-by-project.
Our efforts to secure additional funding from the business community have been partially successful, but we have been unable to secure sufficient funding to sustain our support for charities long term.
The trustees decided that the most responsible course of action was to disperse our remaining funds and call a halt. This has now been done.
Some businesses did share our vision, and £18,000 was donated as a result. You will find these business angels on our ‘Partners’ page on the menu tabs above.
Thank you, all, once again. Your support was and is much appreciated.

Whilst we’re sad that we can no longer support local charities into the future, we are happy that we have been able to fund around £190,000 for projects that have helped the most deprived and excluded people in Nottinghamshire. We have evidence that lives have been changed for the good, and we are very proud and privileged to have been a contributor to that.
All that remains is to wish all our partners – charities and businesses – all the very best for the future. We’ll be thinking of you.
